This section provides examples of the different crystal drops available with our chandeliers. Each piece comes in an assortment of sizes, which are selected to best suit the size and style of your chandelier.
Availability:
Due to the staggering variety of crystal used over the years, in size, crystal quality, lead content, pattern and colour, it is not possible for us to guarantee to match the crystal on any given chandelier unless it is one that we originally supplied. If you have an old chandelier which you are refurbishing, we will try to match the crystal on it, but you will need to send us a sample. If we can't match it, the likelihood is that nobody else can either, and you may simply find it easier and cheaper to replace all the crystal for new, or even buy a replacement chandelier. All we can promise to do is help where we can.
Crystal Selection
We offer a selection of lead content in our crystal ranging from approximately 10% to 30% The greater the lead content, the higher the clarity and the price. 10% lead crystal is much sharper, clearer and will give much better light diffraction and splitting than plain glass. For normal use, 10% lead crystal is perfectly acceptable. However, if more clarity and higher diffraction is required, then 30% lead crystal will be desired. It is very much more difficult to manufacture high lead content crystal and it also requires more lead, which leads to higher material costs and greater waste. Therefore the price of high lead content crystal is much higher. Most inexperienced people will find it hard to tell the difference.
Standard, Swarovsky or Asfour:
We offer Swarovsky or Asfour crystal at 30% lead content as an option on all our crystal chandeliers including the bespoke purpose built products. We are always happy to quote prices for all options to help you in your decision process.
The Manufacturing Process:
All our crystal is manufactured by hand, from the initial moulding or forming process to the grinding and polishing. Whatever the grade of crystal, we only provide the very best available. It is manufactured in a variety of countries including Egypt, China and Italy. Many of our suppliers have been manufacturing high quality lead crystal for centuries.
